Lee's Journey

Growing up I had a fascination with needing to know how things worked, eventually developing a special interest in psychology, body physiology, and health due to some of my own struggles. I was a very impulsive and high energy kid and teen, resulting in frequent injuries, including multiple concussions. I have spent much of my life having to do many different types of physiotherapy to recover from each and every injury.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and IBS, dealing with chronic pain and finding myself easily injured, exhausted, and frustrated. I began changing how I ate and exercising regularly, making great progress and finding relief. In 2012 I was in a severe accident that left me with a moderate TBI and stroke. When I was able to be taken out of my medically induced coma, I had to relearn how to walk, work to gain use of the left side of my body, and how to manage day-to-day life after both a TBI and ischemic stroke. Eventually I learned acceptance, then how to be accountable for my well-being and find the balance between pushing myself and rest.

Through my recovery journey, and with the help of many professionals, I was able to gain strength, balance, and a quality of life I didn't think would ever be possible. It was a long road, but one that inspired me to become a personal trainer. My dream became a desire to help others, to create specialized programs that add balance in the lives of those who deal with chronic pain (and other conditions) that rob so many of the freedom to live life doing the things they enjoy most, including time with friends and family.
